Thank You for Your Support!
Although Sacramento Master Singers tickets sales are healthy - especially during our popular Christmas season - ticket revenues cover only about 60% of the funds required to produce our highly acclaimed concerts. Grants bring in about another 6%. We seek the support of inspired, generous individuals and business organizations to help us continue to present excellent choral music, to support our education outreach, and to feature the rich and varied programs of Dr. Ralph E. Hughes.

Options for Planned Giving
There are a variety of ways that you can be charitable after you are gone. Consider including charitable giving through your will or estate plan if you:
- Need to preserve cash, but want to make sure the causes you care about are supported over the long term through an estate gift to your charitable fund at the Foundation
- No longer need your retirement plan or life insurance and want to designate your fund as the beneficiary
- Need income for retirement but want to shield assets from estate taxes through a Charitable Gift Annuity or Charitable Remainder Trust
Learn the key benefits of planned giving with the SCRF Planned Giving Fact Sheet (PDF). Big Day of Giving
Date and New Fundraising Platform
Announced for BIG Day of Giving 2017
Supporters of the nonprofit organizations that serve the capital region should mark their calendars: the Sacramento Region Community Foundation is excited to announce that next year's BIG Day of Giving will be held from midnight to midnight on Thursday, May 4!
"Each year, BIG Day of Giving is among the most exciting -- and inspiring -- days in our community, so we are already counting down the days to May 4," says Linda Beech Cutler, our chief executive.
During this year's BIG Day of Giving in early May, donors raised $7.1 million for 570 nonprofits throughout the region, exceeding the event's $6 million goal and generating $1.5 million more than the previous year, despite a technical outage that hindered similar events nationwide.
After that outage, we convened peer institutions across the country to hold the technology provider accountable and evaluate alternative firms. Following an extensive analysis, we elected to host next year's BIG Day of Giving on a platform designed by CiviCore, a developer with 15 years of experience managing high-volume giving day events, including some of the biggest in the country such as Colorado Gives Day which generated over $28 million last year. The CiviCore fundraising platform couples innovative and donor-friendly giving tools with robust backup and contingency systems, Cutler says.
"Local donors will give to the causes they love with ease and confidence during BIG Day of Giving 2017. Our community has generated over $16 million for local nonprofits since our first giving day four years ago, and we look forward to continuing to grow generosity in the Sacramento region on May 4, 2017 -- and for years to come," she says.
More than only a 24-hour fundraising challenge, BIG Day of Giving is a year-long capacity building program that helps local nonprofits hone their skills in marketing, social media, and board and donor engagement. Cutler encourages nonprofits interested in participating in next year's BIG Day of Giving to sign up for notifications about the program's upcoming registration period and training schedules on our website.
BIG Day of Giving is made possible by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation in collaboration with our numerous community partners and is a program of our Expanding Philanthropy and the Social Economy initiative, which aims to grow individual giving in the capital area. Donor Advised Fund
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a philanthropic vehicle established at a public charity. It allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit; and then recommend grants from the fund over time. An easy way to think about a donor-advised fund is like a charitable savings account: a donor contributes to the fund as frequently as they like and then recommends grants to their favorite charity when they are ready.
